The birth and development of the automobile is a great achievement of the world's scientific and technological progress, and an important footprint of human progress, which has enabled mankind to enter an automobile industry era from the age of horse-drawn carriages. In the early days of automobiles, in order to meet the comfort, handling stability and power of automobiles, scientists continued to conduct research and innovation, and constantly promoted the progress and innovation of the tire industry.

In 1839, Goodyear developed the "rubber vulcanization technology", which succeeded in developing rubber that would not decompose at any temperature below the boiling point. Thirty-eight years after Goodyear's death, Frank Kebling named the tire company he founded named Goodyear in honor of Charles Goodyear, who made great contributions to the American rubber industry.

In 1888, John Dunlop made rubber into a tube, wrapped around the edge of a wooden wheel, and then filled with gas, the elasticity of this tire can not only fully absorb shocks, but also make the mechanical properties of the body be well protected, the world's first pneumatic tire was born, the technology was first applied in bicycles.

In 1891, Andrew Michelin developed a bicycle pneumatic tire that could be replaced, and on June 11, 1895, the Michelin brothers applied pneumatic tire technology to the automotive field.

In 1903, Mr. J.F. Parma invented twill textiles, which have good wear resistance and can be applied to the field of tires, which can greatly extend the service life of tires, and this invention led to the advent of bias tires.

In 1930, Michelin added a rubber sealing layer with a thickness of about 2~3mm to the inner wall of the tire, and successfully developed the first tubeless tire, that is, a vacuum tire.

In 1946, Michelin invented the radial tire, which increased the service life of the tire by 30~50%, and reduced the fuel consumption of the car by about 8%. The use of radial tires has ushered in a real technological revolution in the tire industry.

Since the advent of radial tires, people have made great progress in the design and development of tire patterns, structural design, skeleton materials, and rubber formulas, so that the performance of tires has become increasingly perfect.
