(1) Store safely
All tires should be stored in a cool, dry and dark room, away from sunlight, oils, acids, hydrocarbons, which can erode tires. Due to pressurization, the liquid may enter the carcass layer through the inner liner of the tire, which can cause sudden damage to the tire.
(2) Tire maintenance
Timely transposition of tires, selection of appropriate patterns, daily maintenance, regular check of tire pressure, timely repair after damage and frequent digging to clean out the stones and foreign objects in the tread, are all important factors to prolong the life of tires. After a period of use of tires, affected by factors such as the camber of the road surface, brake braking and tire assembly positions, it will promote the tread wear to produce a large difference, therefore, it is necessary to achieve timely transposition assembly, so that each tire can take turns in each position once, and the load borne by each tire is roughly the same, so as to solve the problem of tire eccentricity and prolonging service life. There are two commonly used tire rotation methods: "cross rotation" and "cyclic rotation". When the old and new tires are mixed, when the new tires are better, the new tires or better tires are fixed with the front wheels, and the old tires or retreaded tires are fixed on the rear wheels. When changing the original rolling direction after transposition, the tire should be adjusted on the opposite side (that is, changing the loading position and rolling direction), which is a measure to reduce or even eliminate the tire eccentric wear chamfer and unilateral fatigue of the shoulder, and it is also a way to extend the service life of the tire and improve the retreading rate.
(3) Ensure standard air pressure
Master the inflation standard of the tire to ensure that the tire pressure is at the specified value. Tire pressure that is too high or too low will increase wear and tear and reduce mileage. When the tire pressure is lower than the standard value, the wear of the tire shoulder increases sharply; When the tire pressure is higher than the standard value, the unit pressure increases due to the decrease of the tire ground contact area, which increases the wear of the middle part of the tire tread, and increases the tire rigidity at the same time, so that the dynamic load on the wheel increases, and the carcass is easy to burst. The impact is even more severe on uneven roads or at high speeds.
(4) Control the tire temperature
When the car is driving, the temperature in the tire rises due to deformation friction, and when it reaches more than 100 °C, the strength of the carcass is greatly reduced, which is easy to cause delamination, blasting and other damage. Tire temperature is not easy to measure, and is usually determined by the degree of increase in tire pressure, with higher tire pressure indicating higher tire temperature. When the ambient temperature is above 30 °C, the degree of tire pressure increase should not exceed 20% of the inflation standard, due to poor heat dissipation conditions, it is easy to make the tire temperature exceed 100 °C. When driving at high temperatures in summer, if the tire temperature is too high, you should stop in a cool place to cool down naturally, and it is strictly forbidden to splash cold water, deflation and other methods to cool down and lower pressure. Because pouring cold water will make the tire cool down suddenly, the parts shrink unevenly, and it is very easy to crack, affecting the service life. When the weather is hot, if you encounter a road section that needs to wade through water on the way, you should also stop to cool down first to avoid adverse effects on the tires. If the air is deflated on the way, although the tire pressure drops, but the tire temperature does not decrease, but the original balance condition is destroyed, when continuing to drive, the deformation increases due to the decrease in air pressure, and the temperature of the tire will continue to rise on the original basis, until the heat and heat dissipation of the tire are rebalanced, and the tire temperature is much higher than the original, resulting in serious damage to the tire.
(5) The influence of driving habits on tires
(1) Smooth start. Because the wheels suddenly turn from a stationary state, the tires will have to rub violently against the road surface, which will accelerate the wear of the tire crown. (2) Drive at medium speed. According to the data, when the speed of the vehicle is from medium to high, the tire mileage will be reduced by 15%. In addition, the higher the speed, the higher the frequency of wave vibration. When the vehicle speed reaches a certain critical speed, the wave deformation on the surface of the tire crown will increase significantly, forming a stationary waveform. This is the standing wave phenomenon of tires. When the standing wave phenomenon occurs, the tire is not round, the tire temperature rises sharply, the cord layer and the tread will peel off and scatter, which can lead to tire damage and cause major traffic accidents. (3) Try to avoid emergency braking. During emergency braking, the wheels change from rolling to dragging, causing friction between the tires and the road surface, causing severe wear due to overheating. If you use emergency braking at high speed, a large amount of heat will be generated, causing tire aging and malignant damage to the tire.
(6) Routine inspection before driving
Before driving, check the tires for bulges, cracks, cuts, nails, lack of air and abnormal wear, and repair them immediately if found. Check whether the tire groove has been pierced by debris, metal sheets, glass, etc., or there are foreign objects such as stones in the tire groove, and if found, please use a screwdriver to remove it. Check the tightness of the tire retaining nut and tighten it in time if it is loose. If you find that the tire pressure is lower than 20% of the standard, you must go to the nearest tire shop as soon as possible to remove the tire and have it checked by a professional. Pay attention to whether the wheel rim of the car body is deformed, cracked and other damage, so as to facilitate driving safety.
